Is a Blood Test required to get mar­ried in Jamaica?

Answer – A Blood Test is not a require­ment to get mar­ried in Jamaica. To get mar­ried, one will need to pro­vide us with the required doc­u­ments listed on our Wed­ding Pack­ages page. With these doc­u­ments we will be able to obtain a Minister’s Licence on your behalf thus sat­is­fy­ing all legal require­ments to ensure your wed­ding takes place.

What doc­u­ments are required of us?

Answer – DOC­U­MENT REQUIRED are as fol­lows:-

* Nota­rized copy of Bride and Groom’s Birth Cer­tifi­cates
* Nota­rized copy of Divorce Decree, if nec­es­sary
* Nota­rized copy of for­mer spouse death cer­tifi­cate, if wid­owed
* If applic­a­ble, nota­rized copy of Adop­tion doc­u­ments reflect­ing name change
* Nota­rized trans­la­tion of doc­u­ments to Eng­lish, if applic­a­ble
* Com­pleted Wed­ding & Pay­ment Infor­ma­tion Form

Com­pleted Wed­ding Infor­ma­tion should be emailed to us along with scanned copies of all required doc­u­ments at least two months prior to wed­ding date.

How long should one stay in Jamaica before get­ting married?

Answer – Arriv­ing in Jamaica 24 or 48 hours prior to your wed­ding day is only a for­mal­ity, not a law. Pro­vid­ing that a Minister’s License was applied for and received on your behalf, you can get mar­ried within min­utes of your arrival in Jamaica.

Is our mar­riage in Jamaica legal?

Answer – Get­ting mar­ried in Jamaica is absolutely legal. All Mar­riages per­formed in Jamaica are legally rec­og­nized universally.

How soon after our Wed­ding will we receive the offi­cial copy of our Mar­riage Certificate?

Answer – Fol­low­ing your Wed­ding Cer­e­mony, the Min­is­ter will present you with a copy of your Minister’s Cer­tifi­cate. A month and a half fol­low­ing the wed­ding, two cer­ti­fied copies of the Minister’s Cer­tifi­cate will be for­warded to you via mail.

Are Wed­dings in Jamaica less expen­sive than wed­dings back home?

Answer – Depend­ing on your selec­tions, a wed­ding in Jamaica can be far less expen­sive than a wed­ding back home.

Will we be able to meet with Wed­ding Sup­pli­ers prior to our Wedding?

Answer – Absolutely, we are delighted to arrange same for you.
